heres that Fanfic I was talking about writing so you guys get the first peek.
Oh and and I have a thought for a name but I'd like your people's thoughts on it too:
Dimensions of Infinity
(PROLOGUE)
He wouldn't last a WEEK.
Thats what the gods said almost a year ago; And he STILL had no idea how to control it.
It seemed like it had only been yesterday, It would mark his 100th move, from all the way up from a village on the west coast of Canada, too a little town somewhere in the states. (his parent's had given up on telling him where they would be moving, it just killed him a little more.) He loved that town, he'd been there the longest by about four years. His brother had decided to stay behind with their cousins, Gavriel, as he called himself, was about two years older than Lucas, and was completely fed up with the constant moving, so he decided to stay. Lucas on the other hand, didn't really care anymore.
"honey, hows everything going back there, are you OK?"
"yeah mom..."
"just checking"
"ok..."
That was pretty much the extent of their conversations while they were driving to a new town. Lucas had become so distant from his family, he had just given up.
"Honey? are you awake?" asked his mom strenuously."Yeah, why?" "We're there." This was Lucas' favourite part of moving, seeing the new town. It was rather dreary actually, Just a little town by the ocean, Lucas had no idea what his father could possible be doing in a town like this, usually he moved to places more like Cairo, or Vancouver, or Ottawa, not like this. On his second day of being there he learned he would only be staying there for about a month, but that would end up being the third most important time in his entire existence.
(PROLOGUE 2)
Lucas' family was extraordinarily rich, so Lucas was generally tutored at home, as opposed to private or public school. This being the case, he didn't really have any friends, so he just walked around most of the day. On this particular day, Lucas was walking by an orphanage and noticed a girl, but her hair was blue? His age, maybe a bit younger, siting by herself, while the other kids played amongst themselves. He decided he was going to say hi to her tomorrow.
Tomorrow came like a bullet, and Lucas was really exited, he would have a chance to make a friend, even if it was only for a month. He ran over to the orphanage and there she was, just standing beside a tree by herself, but it looked like she was talking to someone. Lucas ran over, but she didn't notice. What happened in the next ten seconds would change his life forever. First he saw what she was talking to, an Owl. Second, there was a HUGE flash of light, and third, she was gone. He ran over to where she was, just praying that it was a trick, but it wasn't. There was just nothing there, except, there was a strange pool of liquid, It was the most unique thing he had ever seen. It was blue, and red with gold lines and splotches of black everywhere. For some reason, He completely lost control of his body and his hand touched the liquid. The second he touched it, it started to slither onto his hand, and all of a sudden it formed the most beautiful, ornate glove he had ever seen.
The next day, he walked over to the orphanage, and asked the owners if one of their girls was missing, the owners said yes, and he asked them what her name was, and what she looked like, they said Sierra, and she was a light brunette in colour. This had always been something he had to deal with, when he saw he people he saw their true self, so more often then not he called people out on lies they made. He then decided to find out everything he could about her. The owners got suspicious, and asked why he was so interested, and he just said that he was curious, and that he would convince his father to give them some money. The owners decided that it was fine, so they gave him her file. He walked home and read everything that had on her, which was surprisingly little. Right before he was going to put it down, his right hand got extremely cold, and he felt himself being drained.
He felt like he was going to pass out, but right before he was sure he was going to, A huge flash of light appeared before him and he saw the girl once again. He saw that she was dressed strangely and was drawing something with...a wand? Just then he saw a miniature blizzard form in front of the wand she was holding, and she started to blush because everyone else in the image started to stare at her. Just as Lucas saw this, the picture right in front of him disappeared and he fainted.
(CHAPTER 1) [I always write prologues in narrative, but the main story is never bound to a particular writing style]
It had been almost exactly a lunar month before I woke up, and believe me this, it was no pleasant, Sunday morning, yawn-to-the-smell-of-bacon, wake up, it was horrible. It was as if I had been bashed on the head with a metal pole, and beaten to with in an inch of my life. My first thought was, what the in the world happened to me, then it hit me like a train. The vision, the girl named sierra, the glove, everything! My next thought was why was it so cold, and I soon realized, I was lying on a stone floor. The next few days contained far too many surprises, but I would have to deal with them all.
The first and most important thing I would learn was that my parents decided to leave me in the town as they felt sorry for me for having to move so often. The next thing I would learn was that my parents left me around one hundred million dollars for me to spend how I saw fit. Another thing they had done was donate around twenty five million to the orphanage as I had promised, but I didn't expect my parent to donate that much. The forth and final thing, which I discovered myself, was after I had done some research into the glove. There was absolutely no evidence to support my theory, but I strongly believed that the glove was of another world, and it would grant me powers, those of superheroes maybe. I was about half right.
Three months flew by in a flash, it was almost as if I wasn't really there, transparent would be a good way to describe me. I had made no friends, but everyone sucked up to me, including most of the adults in the village. All they wanted was my money, and who was i to decline? So every Sunday, at about noon, a few dozen people would line up in front of my nice little house and beg for money. Last Sunday, I finally snapped. I couldn't take it anymore. I just left all the money I had in bags, and labeled each one with the name of someone in the village. I decided I was going to take a walk to the tree where I had last seen Sierra. As I walked closer to the tree, I began to feel the same cold feeling in my hand, the drainage of life, the extreme lack of life, then, Poof, the vision was there again, but this time, I didn't see sierra, I saw the owl that she was talking to, an old man that kind of looked like a wizard, then the scene changed, and I saw a tower, and many other wizards, battling monsters of some sort. For some reason I brought the glove up to my eye level and noticed that it had taken the form of a claw, At that split second, I made a decision. I lashed out at the vision and it looked as if I had clawed a hole in it, I continued clawing, but I knew it was not enough, the feeling was already fading, I knew if I wanted anything to happen, I would have to just go for it. And I did. I jumped strait into the light and the next thing I knew, I was gone.
(CHAPTER 2)
"Hello, Young student and welcome t-...Who are you?" He asked in a stern tone,
"Me?, I'm Lucas"
"Lucas? I'm sorry we don't have a single registry named...Did you say your name was Lucas?" He asked quizzically,
"yes, Lucas" I said blankly
"Lucas what?"
"My name is just Lucas, My parent had to have our names changed do to some unfortunate...circumstances, but I do have these two initials, my parent refused to tell me what they stood for though."
"Please Lucas, read this"
"OK, but what is your name?"
"It's ambrose."
"Well ok, Ambrose, the two initials are M & F."
"it can't possibly be...!" "Read this...Read this IMMEDIATLY!"Exclaimed the rather old professor.
He handed me an old scrap of paper, and it looked like a language i had never seen before.
"Sorry ambrose, I have no idea what this is."
"are you sure?"
"yeah I have no ide-" and just like before, the tingly feeling in my hand came back, the drain, and then the light. This time, the glove didn't form a claw but just stayed as a glove, however Ambrose rushed to me and pushed me into the light.
It had been about two months, I was totally used to it by now, the flashes, the tingling, all of it. It had pretty much become a part of my life. The two months had been a blur, come to think of it, I couldn't really remember them at all. I do remember one thing though, there was not a single viewer or portal. I had decided to record my experiences, because I had hoped that someone knew something about what was happening.
It was Sunday, and I had just woken up, and I immediately decided to take a walk to the orphanage. I was a crisp, blue day, rather cold though.

YAAAAAYYY!! SIERRA! :D
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty good, lol. You need to work on capitalizing and dialogue, though. You're good at telling the story... it's just grammar that you can improve upon. :P For instance, EVERY time a new person is speaking, it should be a new paragraph. You did that at the beginning of the story, during the prologue, but in chapter 2 everything was in a single paragraph. It makes it a little confusing and messy.
You know, just some friendly advice. ;)
that actually helps a lot, because grammar is my worst fault.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah...I have a tendency to mix stories up, just my creative twist i guess.
This is however technically a rough draft so don't expect it to be as neat as your stuff.
IT WILL GET BETTER, I PROMISE.
